Authorization to Bid the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 41^st Year for Solar Lights

Description of Action

Solar lights are planned as the City’s 41^st Year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded project. It is proposed that solar lights will be installed at various locations as generally located on the attached map. The locations for the solar lights are in the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), which is the delineated as a CDBG eligible area. The proposed solar lights are intended to provide safety and security at strategic locations during natural disasters and power outages as well as previously planned locations.

As required by CDBG guidelines a public meeting will be held to provide information about the proposed project. The plans have been prepared and the project is ready to bid. The number of lights installed with these funds will be dependent on the cost per light in accordance with the approved bid.
